“Moving forward” was definitely a continued theme for this past week. It started with a week full of farewells and my last day of work on August 2nd. I had spent almost 5 years at Northrop Grumman. It was filled with many growing opportunities, accomplishments, and friendships, making my time there very enjoyable. I was further blessed by many of them this last week with going-away parties, lunches, and warm wishes. I will definitely miss my time there and most of all the friends that I have grown to enjoy and care about.
This last week also included my last Sunday in attendance at my home church, Freedom Church, where I was given a great send-off and was covered in prayer. This blessing was continued with a farewell party with friends from Freedom and King’s Harbor churches my last night in LA. God has surely blessed me through many great and godly friends during my stay in LA – doing life together, serving together on a Thailand trip, in youth group, in bible studies, and especially for encouraging me in my faith. (You will all be greatly missed!)
And to cap off an emotional week of “goodbyes” and “good journeys”, I drove out August 4th in my little but reliable Saturn car filled to the top with all that I owned, and headed off for Minnesota to spend some much needed time with my family. Passing through 8 states in all, I made the long 2,000 mile journey in just 2 days. It felt like I had many of my friends with me, having many people praying for safety along the way and asking for updates as I went. And don’t worry, Siri on my iPhone assisted in making sure my eyes stayed on the road. : )
I will be in Minnesota for the next 5 weeks staying with family, resting, and continuing the planning for the new ministry and upcoming wedding in Thailand. Throughout all of above events, God has shown me just how He has equipped me for this time and will continue to be the great Shepherd every step along the way.
In reflecting on what’s happened so far, I do thank you all for your prayers and friendships. I am truly grateful for each of you and how you have impacted my life! Thank you!
