To Us a Child is Born, To Us a Son is Given

But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. – Luke 2:10-11 (NIV)

It is Christmas time once again.  This past year has flown by with many highlights, a few struggles, and a continued testimony of God’s faithfulness. We encourage you to check out this past year’s newsletters when you have some time. And of course, it is the Christmas season and that serves as a great reminder to examine our lives to be better witnesses of God’s love and truth. This is also a great opportunity to share with others the good news of Jesus Christ the Savior.

We had such an opportunity earlier this month as we did a outreach to a Shan & Pa-Oh work camp near Chiang Mai. This was the first time for many of the coworkers and neighbors of our group to hear the story of Christmas, with over 100 kids and adults in attendance. Several members of our church also joined in and helped make it a truly special occasion with a Christmas choir and drama.  Please join with us in prayer that people will understand the good news and seek the joy and peace that only Jesus can bring.

“She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: “The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”-which means, “God with us.”  – Matthew 1:21-23 (NIV)

This was also an encouraging time for us as we saw several of our Pa-Oh bible study members get more involved in the preparation, activities and sharing of their testimonies with their own people. We ask for prayers towards making many strong disciples of this community.

We are currently in Mae Hong Son in the midst of preparing for Christmas celebrations in a few of the local villages, including a special one with our kids of Grace House.  Just this morning we joined with Tiff’s local church in a Christmas party in our Long Neck village.  We ask you to continue to pray for opened hearts and transformed lives for these precious people!
