Greetings from Thailand!
After more than 2 months in America, Tiff and I made it back safe and sound to Thailand earlier this month. This was Tiff’s first trip to America and though we weren’t able to visit with everyone we wanted to before coming back to Thailand, we were blessed with a great time with family and
friends and lots of memorable experiences. This included about 2 months with us crossing the country as we shared about the ministry in Minnesota, Texas, Georgia, and California. And yes, Tiff finally got to see snow and experience -30deg as we went sledding and ice fishing. Seeing the snow was a dream come true but I’m not so sure about the cold weather! We also want to give a special “Thank You” to all our family and friends that made us feel right at home.
“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name.”
– Psalms 103:1 (NASB)
Trip to Mae Hong Son
After a few days of getting through jet lag, we welcomed our first team and were off to Mae Hong Son. For most of the week the team taught at the Karenni Bible College, conducting a training seminar on marriage counseling and training to be a counselor. It was the first of its kind at the school and the students seemed very engaged and asked tons of questions. We also had the opportunity to go into the surrounding villages to conduct medical clinics and outreaches with lots of fun activities. It was great to see the Lord use the team in so many different ways. This was especially so as some of the villagers prayed to receive Christ!
Highlights of our January Trip to Mae Hong Son and Surrounding Villages
Let me just say it was truly a blessing to see our kids at Grace House again too. Since we missed Christmas and New Years with them, we had a special party with lots of fun games, gifts (including Minnesota Gopher sweatshirts!), and food. Later on at church they sang a special song that they learned while we were away. Another highlight came as a few of the older kids joined us with the village activities during the outreach. It’s such a joy to work with humble hearts!
“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:6-7 (NASB)
