Ministry Highlights

Mae Hong Son & Grace House

We recently had a team of professionals from the New Hope Church that came for about 2 weeks. One of the benefits of visiting teams is that they open new doors to minister and build relationships within the community. One of those new doors opened included teaching at a community education center and at a community college in MHS city. While the main topic of the teaching was on business, the team did a great job of incorporating their faith and focusing on God’s purpose for the students into each lesson. Please be in prayer with us for God to impact these students.

The team also did a great job teaching at the local Karenni bible school. As many of the students plan to go on as teachers and ministers, the team taught on the person of Jesus, the Christian faith, the importance of relationships, and how to teach others. One of the highlights was seeing the students prepare a lesson and do a hands-on teaching for the kids in the Long Neck village.

We also a time spent teaching the kids bible stories, dramas, English and songs in the Long Neck School.

In addition, a few members of the team held a special teacher-training workshop for the schoolteachers. Many of the the teachers are young without a lot of experience. Not only were they shown additional teaching techniques but also implemented them while getting feedback from others. This is particularly important as this can greatly improve their skills and help equip and prepare our Grace House kids for greater opportunities.

One further highlight was that we were able to hangout with Grace House kids after school and have a time of sharing, worship, testimonies, and prayer. These kids really are so precious and have gone through so much. Please keep lifting them up in your prayers.

Pa-Oh & Shan Ministry

We were able to hold a few of our regular bible studies with the Pa-Oh & Shan groups around Chiang Mai. They continue to be spread out as they find construction work at new locations. A few positives in light of this are some have found new Christian communities to be a part of while others who haven’t found nearby churches have been listening to sermons online.

In addition to this, they have been able to share their faith to new groups of people as they move to new places. So while our group changes we are thankful for their perseverance and the opportunity to be lights to others.
