“And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:19 (NASB)
It’s been an eventful few weeks lately including Tiff starting her fall semester and I just finalized plans for going to the US next month for a few weeks. I will have the opportunity to share about the ministry in Minnesota, Utah and California on this trip. Please be praying for all the traveling and arrangements and I hope to see many of you soon.
Some more good news was that I was approved for a new visa. I no longer need to leave the country every 90 days and I can renew the visa in Chiang Mai. As every foreigner here knows, this is a great blessing as visa runs get old pretty fast.
The children at Grace House are on break, having just finished up mid-terms at school. Our visit earlier was an opportunity to motivate them to do well in their studies and to share Thailand’s Mother’s Day with them too. In-between activities, the kids shared about their families and wrote down about some of the treasures in their lives. Continuing the theme from last month’s team, we hope they truly understand that they too are treasured.
Back in April we reported on the fire that broke out in the nearby refugee camp that left 1,000 people homeless and with nothing. At that time we worked to help meet the physical needs as we were able. And this past month our staff went back inside with more gifts and donations and had the opportunity to encourage and provide for spiritual needs too. Part of the time was also spent at the newly built school where the old one burned down. We are thankful for the opportunities to keep ministering to the people there and continue to ask for your prayers.
“I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; from where shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.” – Psalm 121:1-2 (NASB)
Shan & Pa-Oh
Previously we mentioned a new bible study in a Pa-Oh work camp south of Chiang Mai. Many if not all the workers left Burma in search of work and freedom from oppression by the Burmese army. This month our team was given the opportunity to do an outreach there. Not only did we grill out and invite the whole camp, but we also had a special Pa-Oh movie, songs, dramas, teachings, and more. We had a great turn-out with many very attentive the whole night. Please continue to pray as we’ve had several more people attend our study group and ask to know more.
