“Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” – Luke 2:10-11
We hope you are all doing well and having plenty of time to spend with family this Christmas season. It is not always easy here in the warm weather to think of it being Christmas time but across the world Christmas is a reason to celebrate. There has been a lot happening here lately as it is one of the best opportunities to share about Christ and why we follow Him. Actually, before December snuck up on us, we had a lot happening in November too. Below are some of the many highlights. This is a longer update so sit back and enjoy.
In mid November there was an open invite for all who are involved with ministry to the Shan people to come together and connect. It was a 3 day event with lots of different groups coming and sharing testimonies, visions, and worshiping together. We had several of our group attend and they all said it was very encouraging and truly built up their faith to see and hear how God is working among their people.

We later had a wonderful time celebrating the decision of two of our girls from Grace House that decided to obey Christ and be baptized in His Name. These two girls are new to Grace House this year but have been a real joy to know and have been such servants to all.

I was also invited again by Deaw, the head of the Thai Circus, to share at the annual Thai Clown festival this year. He had joined a team from Atlanta 2 years ago to Mae Hong Son and Grace House and God totally changed his life. And so each year they help raise awareness and support for the poor and afflicted while bringing lots of joy and smiles to peoples’ lives.

The first week of December we kicked off our first Christmas celebration of the year. This was the second year we’ve had the opportunity in this area to share the meaning of Christmas and the good news as we invited several Shan and Pa-Oh communities and work camps to join in the celebration. In addition to several friends helping out, we also were graciously joined by Andrew Goodman who is the head of the OMF Shan ministry, as he gave a great sermon in the Shan language.
Christmas Outreach in Chiang Mai
In addition to the Christmas outreach, we have also been continuing our fellowship and bible studies each week with the Shan and Pa-Oh. As we’ve been digging deeper into the Scriptures, Christmas also gave them another opportunity to serve, share testimonies, sing and perform dramas. I was also blessed as Tiff and they gave me a special birthday party earlier this month.

This past week we had the opportunity to join Christmas in Huey Pu Geng Long Neck village. Several of our kids have come from this area and the area across the border in Burma. Previously we brought the older kids here to help as we’ve done outreaches but this was the first time we’ve brought all the kids here and they really did a great job singing and performing.

We also had our Christmas at Grace House with all the kids. It was great to spend so much more time with them this trip as school had finished up for the semester. In addition to great food, games, prizes, and gifts, we invited the whole village to join in and the kids and staff put on a great performance at the school. It was another great opportunity to share the good news of Jesus coming into the world and we look forward to seeing these seeds sown grow in the hearts of the villagers.

“But when the fullness of time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.” – Galatians 4:4
We hope you all have an amazing and happy New Year and thank you to all for your continued partnership in serving Christ in Thailand.
